According to Toyota, "RAV" stands for "Recreational Active Vehicle." The "4" is for "4-Wheel Drive." I was hoping for something more interesting, like "Racoon Army Victorious" or "Red Alien Vermin." Oh, well -- I guess "Recreational Active Vehicle" is appropriately descriptive.
