The Kubang will reportedly make use of some Jeep technology, but will be powered by proprietary Maserati engines developed and produced at Ferrari's facility in Modena, Italy. Plans call for an eight-speed automatic transmission, and Maserati-sourced suspension, braking and steering components. Despite the fact that Kubang will be sharing a production line with Grand Cherokee, Maserati has been very careful to point out that synergies with Jeep will not cross over into production components.
