2013 Mercedes-Benz ML350 BlueTEC 4MATIC Test Drive and Review

Some of my fellow auto journalists are big diesel fans. I've never really understood it until recently.

I recently spent a week with the 2013 Mercedes-Benz ML350 BlueTEC 4MATIC, and I think I finally get it. Or maybe diesel finally gets me. Gobs of torque. Quiet, smooth operation. No discernible odor or other diesel artifacts. Great fuel efficiency. What's not to like, especially when the convenience level is so high, as well, along with the promise of longterm durability?

I only wish I loved the ML as much as I loved its engine.
