I really liked the new Land Rover Range Rover Evoque when it came out last year, but it made me a little sad. I thought for sure that the long-neglected Land Rover LR2 was a goner. Land Rover barely mentioned it in its press materials, and advertising was non-existent.
Much to my delight, I was recently invited to drive the new LR2, refreshed and re-engineered for the 2013 model year. I got a chance to drive it on the road, in the snow and rain, and off-road in mud, slush and rocky dirt. And guess what? It's a Land Rover.
Please read my 2013 Land Rover LR2 Test Drive and Review to see how the new LR2 fared.

Good review. Quicker and more-fuel efficient than the outgoing model, that’s a big win. Plus the body style is more versatile vs. the Evoque. Now let’s see if it’s possible to get a base LR2 without $10K worth of options, without needing to place a special order.
