Get ready for another rant about vehicle naming. Are you ready?
I'm very interested in the new 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek that Aaron Gold, About.com's Guide to Cars, reviewed for us this week. I'm a big Subaru fan to begin with, and the compact SUV segment is growing by leaps and bounds. But that name!
Aaron tells me that the "XV" stands for "Crossover Vehicle." Okay. Then why complicate it with "Crosstrek"? Or conversely, why complicate such a good name with the "XV"? Subaru tried this once before, with the B9 Tribeca. Nobody knew what to call it. B9? Tribeca? After a a year on the market, Subaru dropped the "B9," and the Tribeca lives on.
So why repeat the past with the XV Crosstrek?
Luckily, the vehicle is no mistake. Check out Aaron's 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek Test Drive and Review to find out more.

As a Subaru-lover, I’m happy to see that they added the optional navigation system and back-up camera to the Crosstrek. I love my luxurious Tribeca, but some day I’ll probably trade down to a smaller Subaru. But I just can’t live without the nav system and back-up camera.
