2009 Volkswagen Touareg 2 V6 TDI Photo Gallery

Thursday September 3, 2009

Volkswagen has come a long way since the days of the original Beetle. VW used to be the poster child for economy, frugality and free spirt. While the muscle car wars raged in the United States, VW was producing air cooled economy cars that made 50 horsepower, and sold for a fraction of the price of big American sedans.

Flash forward to today, and we have this 2009 Volkswagen Touareg 2 V6 TDI Photo Gallery from Aaron Gold, About.com's Guide to Cars. Take a look at this $54,000 Volkswagen. $54,000! In 1965, the VW Beetle represented 65% of imported car sales in the United States, and retailed for a tiny fraction of that price (I think around $2,500 -- does anybody know the actual original retail price?). VW has gone from low tech economy car to high tech near luxury.

How well did VW make the transition? Read Aaron's Guide Review of the 2009 Volkswagen Touareg 2 V6 TDI, then take a look at this 2009 Volkswagen Touareg 2 V6 TDI Photo Gallery to find out.
