2008 Infiniti EX35 AWD Journey Test Drive and Review

I just finished posting my 2008 Infiniti EX35 AWD Journey Test Drive and Review. Rarely has an SUV that I liked so much gotten so ambivalent a review, I must confess.

It's not that the EX35 isn't awesome in many ways. It is awesome. I just can't help but compare it to an even more awesome crossover, the FX35. Every issue I might have with the EX, the FX solves.

So why does a smart company like Infiniti come out with a vehicle like the EX? They obviously perceived a gap in their lineup, and they're trying to fill it. The only problem is that I think they are trying to plug the wrong gap. They should have gone even smaller with the EX, and tried to create a compact luxury crossover -- something that hits the same market as the new Nissan Rogue, but with Infiniti-level luxury and technology. Now that would have been the right EX.
