If you're going to do something, do it with gusto. I'm pretty sure that the design team at Nissan subscribes to that maxim. It sure shows in their car, SUV and truck designs.

My personal favorite in the lineup is the Nissan Murano, which was a ground-breaking design when it first came out a few years ago. Crossover design hasn't been the same since.

The subject of today's photo gallery, the 2008 Nissan Pathfinder SE 4x4 V8, isn't as ground-breaking. But it is a smart, unique take on the mid-size SUV that ties in with the exaggerated muscularity of Nissan's truck lineup. Say this about the Pathfinder -- even from a distance, you know that you're seeing a Nissan SUV. And that's a successful design in my book.
