IIHS ratings released for mid-size SUVs
Thursday February 28, 2008
According to an Associated Press report in Tuesday's Los Angeles Times, the HUMMER H3 had a very poor showing in the latest frontal crash test ratings for mid-size SUVs. The Nissan Murano won the "TOP SAFETY PICK designation."The results are reported on the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's web site. The HUMMER H3 earned an "acceptable" rating for frontal crash protection, at a time when "nearly every vehicle the Institute tests now earns the top rating of good for frontal crash protection," according to the IIHS press release.

I guess this proves that LOOKING huge and invulnerable is not the same as BEING that way.
Bummer for Hummer… that’s one less reason to go Tonka.
I own an H3 and this latest report came out right after I got it. I am always disturbed to see these reports but thankfully it didn’t fail and I personally feel very safe driving that vehicle.
