2008 Buick Enclave Test Drive and Review
With all of the news we're hearing about the collapse of the American auto industry, I received a ray of optimism from our reviewer BJ Killeen. In her 2008 Buick Enclave Test Drive and Review, BJ advises that "if you're looking for the best near-luxury crossover vehicle on the market, skip the Lexus and Acura dealership and head straight to Buick. You won't be disappointed."Wow.
BJ has been writing reviews for a long time -- though she maintains a very youthful appearance, I happen to know that she measures her auto journalism experience in decades -- so when she makes a strong statement like that, I take notice.
Aaron Gold, About.com's Guide to Cars, drew a similar conclusion about the GMC Acadia a while back. I just finished a test drive in the Saturn Outlook, the least fancy of the trio of GM crossovers, and I haven't yet written up my thoughts, but I don't think I'll be quite as enthusiastic as my colleagues.
I wonder if the trim level really makes that much difference?

I had gone to my GMC Buick dealer for an upgrade to my OnStar in the GMC. Never liked or owned a Buick but my wife and I were going to lunch and saw a new Buick Enclave on the lot. We were impressed enough to take it out for a drive on the country roads here. The quiet was like no other vehicle. The next day my wife traded her 2006 Audi and took it home. We now have friends that are equally impressed but dumb GM has none to sell and orders are a long way off. What is it with GM do they want to go out of business. For the first time in years they make a great vehicle and it is not available!
