The biggest car show I've ever seen
Friday November 3, 2006
I just returned from Las Vegas, Nevada -- thank heavens. I went there for the SEMA show. "SEMA" is the Specialty Equipment Market Association. Here's a snippet from their website:A love for cars, trucks and SUVs is the motivating force behind the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA). This trade association consists of a diverse group of manufacturers, distributors, retailers, publishing companies, auto restorers, street rod builders, restylers, car clubs, race teams and more. The SEMA show is held annually at the Las Vegas Convention Center. I'd say it was enormous, but that doesn't really capture the scope of the show. I trudged the halls and grounds of the SEMA show for two days straight, snapping over three hundred photos, and collecting a cartload of brochures and information. There were a ton of new products that will be great for SUV owners, from performance hop-ups to tires and wheels to cleaning products to electronics and beyond. There were outrageous, eye-catching custom creations, head-shaking add-ons, and some wild and crazy gadgets. Everyone from the biggest manufacturers to the smallest garage entrepreneurs had something to display.SEMA members make, buy, sell and use all kinds of specialty parts and accessories to make vehicles more attractive, more unique, more convenient, faster, safer, more fun and even like-new again.
I will digest and disseminate as quickly as possible -- keep watching this spot for reports from the front.
I have to go soak my feet now.

I look forward to hearing about interesting and innovative new products you scoped out. Also the unusual and ridiculous ones!
