2006 Toyota Land Cruiser Photo Gallery

I just picked up a 2006 Toyota Land Cruiser. Since the weather is threatening here in Sunny Southern California, I immediately rushed out to one of my favorite locations and took some photographs -- you can see them here.

With all of the high tech, ultra luxury SUVs out there right now, it's really interesting to drive the Land Cruiser. Even with DVD Navigation, adjustible height control and a rearview camera, there's something about the Land Cruiser that still feels old-fashioned and elemental. It reminds me of my 1994 Toyota 4Runner, in a good way. And it reminds me of every old Land Cruiser I've ever driven. Toyota seems to recognize the iconic stature of the Land Cruiser, and is very slow to make changes and very careful to maintain the design DNA (that's a phrase that we hear a lot from car designers nowadays). Compared to the 2007 Cadillac Escalade, the Land Cruiser is almost quaint. I like quaint. Take a look at the photos, and see what you think.
